After getting an urgent warning, Carol Kirkwood reacts to a BBC Breakfast weather impostor.
After being notified that she was being impersonated on the platform, CAROL KIRKWOOD replied on social media.
Carol Kirkwood, 59, took to Twitter after learning that a bogus account had been created with the alleged imposter “pretending” to be the BBC Breakfast weather presenter. A viewer on the microblogging site today brought the matter to the meteorologist’s attention.
Carol was notified after the impersonator began to follow them on Twitter, according to the social media user.
A phony account had been set up in her name, according to the person in issue.
“@carolkirkwood…,” they wrote. Carol, you have someone impersonating you.
“I’ve created a new Twitter profile. Obviously a ruse, because I can’t conceive of a reason why you’d want to follow me.”
A screenshot of Carol delivering the weather was supplied by the user, along with an image of the profile page.
The account was created earlier this month, and it claimed to be a “authentic fan page.”
The BBC Breakfast presenter stated that she was unaware of the bogus social media account.
Carol responded, “This is not me!!!” in light of her 509,000 followers.
“Thanks for letting me know Richard,” she stated in another tweet.
“Carol, I’ve reported the phony account to Twitter, perhaps they will remove it,” said another social media user.
The broadcaster expressed gratitude to her followers for alerting her to the bogus social media account.
During today’s BBC Breakfast, Carol said an emotional farewell to her colleague and friend Louise Minchin.

Louise stated earlier this year that she would be leaving the program at the “end of the summer,” and she said her goodbyes to her co-star on Wednesday after confirming it was their final show together.
Carol added, as she presented the show’s final forecast, “This is the last time I’m sorry to say I’ll be pitching back to Lou.”
“Isn’t this the final time we’ll be working together on Breakfast, Lou?”
“I’m extremely sad, but working with you has been such a pleasure, and I’ve learned so much from you, so thank you for that.
“Thank you for being both my friend and my colleague.”
