Katherine Downes has spoken out about her final morning news show appearance for BBC Sport.
Katherine admitted it was her last shift on the show earlier today in a post to her 12,000 followers.
She also discussed how things didn’t go as planned with her co-star Naga Munchetty.
“My last shift with the sports news on @BBCBreakfast and, true to form, I’ve forgotten my shoes,” the sports presenter said.
“Borrowed some from @TVNaga01’s cabinet…she has much daintier feet than I do.”
“Over the next 3 hours, we’ll have an (un)fitting finale.”
Naga, on the other hand, was quick to send a supportive message to her colleague.
“You wear them fantastically!” she replied.
Katherine worked for the BBC for 14 years before announcing her intention to “move on.”
“It’s given me the best of times and the best of friends,” she wrote in a November 5 tweet.
“I hope they’ll call me back now and then, but if you need a commentator, presenter, or reporter, I’ll be available starting in November.”
“Always welcome my friend xx,” Naga responded at the time.
Many fans expressed their surprise at Katherine’s departure after learning of her departure.
