After 11 years of marriage, Big Brother star Pete Bennett ‘finally’ divorces ex-wife Cherry.
After 11 years of marriage, BIG Brother star Pete Bennett has legally divorced his ex-wife Gemma Rattus, popularly known as Cherry.
The 39-year-old announced the news on Instagram Friday, along with several photographs of the pair enjoying the news through FaceTime, demonstrating that they are still quite friendly.
“It’s official myself and @rattusgemma are finally DIVORCED after 11 years,” he captioned the photo. Today I received my absolute decree.
“It was great to celebrate over FaceTime, but the next time we meet together, we’ll throw a proper party.” Ex-wife, I adore you.”
“Over a decade of marriage, and still chatting and loving each other,” Cherry said beneath the image, echoing Pete’s comments.
“I’d say that’s pretty damn good!” says the narrator.
Celebrity Four Weddings, which aired in 2010, followed four brides as they planned their special day and attended each other’s weddings.
Finally, each bride voted on which wedding was the best for a chance to win their dream honeymoon.
Pete and Cherry, however, announced their divorce six months after their opulent TV wedding.
Pete’s divorce comes six months after he cried during a heartfelt video tribute to his late lover Nikki Grahame.
Nikki, 38, died on April 10 at her London home, a day after being discharged from Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester after a three-week stint, after a long fight with anorexia.
The couple met on the Channel 4 reality show in 2006, which catapulted them both to stardom.
Pete rushed to social media after the terrible news to pay his respects to the much-loved celebrity at the moment, thanking everyone for their “heartwarming” support.
“I thought to myself, ‘Yeah, we could save her,’ but we couldn’t,” he continued. But that’s well; she’s in a good place and no longer suffers.
“So I’d just like to raise a f***ing glass, or, more accurately, a bottle of wine, for Nikki Grahame.”
During the show, the two notably had a brief affair, but Pete stopped it after a month. “I’ll always be fond of Pete,” Nikki said on Loose Women, indicating that they remained on good terms. Nikki said their relationship was “never meant to be” in June 2020, but she maintained she has no regrets about their romance.
“I loathed it when I realized I was falling in love with Pete Bennett,” she stated at the time. It was never supposed to happen. But I was in love with him at the moment. It was very wonderful.” Please contact us at [email protected] or phone 02077824220.
