‘Adored is different,’ Nigel Havers said when asked if he was in love with Princess Diana.

According to unconfirmed accounts, Nigel Havers denied being “in love” with Princess Diana, arguing that “adored is different.”

Mr Havers was back on TV yesterday night, joining an army of celebrities in Michael McIntyre’s BBC smash The Wheel. Along with Greg Rutherford and Reverend Kate Bottley, the 69-year-old was hoped to help three contestants win a life-changing sum of money by answering questions on the game show. The BAFTA-nominated actor rose to popularity as Lord Andrew Lindsay in the British film Chariots of Fire in 1981, and is well-known in the UK for his appearances as a well-spoken Englishman.

With his depictions so steeped in history, it’s no surprise that he’s been friends with members of the Royal Family in the past, including Diana.

He revealed that he “adored” the Princess of Wales, but that he had no romantic feelings for her because she was married to Charles.

Piers Morgan said four years ago on Life Stories that the two “meet up a couple of times,” but that their encounters were “very much simply tea.”

“I was very, very good,” he continued. I didn’t fall in love with her, but I admired her. Adored is not the same as being in love.

“She was also married to Prince Charles.” He would have been furious with me if I had done that. That was a terrible thing to do.

“It was haphazard, but it was endearing. I brewed a delicious cup of tea. She’d complain about how difficult life was… She was eager to strike up a discussion with me, simply to say hello, see what I was up to, and such.”

Mr Havers married Carolyn Cox, also known as Caro, in 1974, but soon after began an affair with his friend’s sister Polly Williams, whom he subsequently married.

Mr Havers struggled as a result of the aftermath and loss, and informed Mr Morgan that he sought medical therapy to help him overcome his despair.

Caro and Polly died afterwards, but he is now married to Georgiana Bronfman, his third wife.

The Londoner expressed his dissatisfaction and eventually admitted to having a faithfulness issue, saying, “I suppose I did but not now.” I couldn’t say no to these stunning ladies.

“I likewise didn’t think it was.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
