Adam Peaty has a disadvantage given that he was the “last one” to begin training for Strictly.
ADAM PEATY claimed that he was most likely the only Strictly Come Dancing participant who did not begin practicing in the weeks leading up to the premiere.
The gold medalist swimmer will be showcasing his abilities on the dance floor instead of in the pool as he competes in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing. However, the 26-year-old recently said that his training routine was not up to par, adding that he was likely the last celebrity to begin training.
“It’s a challenge in life,” he said when asked why he chose to take part in the BBC show.
“I’m continuously challenged as a sportsperson, both in and out of the water.
“I’m used to training and working hard, but I’ve taken a break from training, which has been a part of my life for the most of my life.
“And it’s all about the challenge for me.”
“Funnily enough, I think I’m the only one who isn’t training,” he said when asked how he’s prepared for the tournament.
“For me, I’m just trying to maintain my health while still taking a lot of time off.
“I know it will be difficult and challenging, but once the training begins, I will work hard – very hard.”
Some of Adam’s Olympian colleagues have previously participated in the performance, but he hasn’t told them anything about it.
He explained, “I’ve [spoken about it]a little bit, but I don’t want to know too much.”
“I don’t want to give anything away. So, for me, I’m just making sure I have fun and enter this tournament – after all, that’s what it is at the end of the day.
“I just want a new perspective and to see what we can come up with.”
“Swimming training is one of the hardest, so I’m used to going up and down, up and down the lane for four hours a day, and then going to the gym throughout the day,” he said when asked if his swimming training will help him out on the dance floor.
“Music is a must for me when it comes to dancing, but I also expect it to be really difficult – which I appreciate.
