According to a source, Rylan Clark-Neal “asks BBC to just name him Rylan after his divorce from his husband.”

Presenter Rylan Clark is newly single after splitting from husband Dan Neal and has asked for the BBC to drop his last name and from now of to just call him ‘Rylan’

Presenter Rylan Clark Neal has reportedly asked for his surname to be dropped after splitting with husband Dan Neal.

The 32-year-old’s relationship ended with Dan, 41, earlier this year, six years after the pair tied the knot.

When appearing on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, host Rylan was credited by just his first name, while co-host Janette Manrara was credited by her full name.

A Strictly source claimed to The Sun: “He thought it was best to have a fresh start and the easiest way to do that was to go back to just one name.

“He didn’t want to make a big fuss – just to change it onscreen.”

The presenter has also deleted his last names from his Twitter account.

The couple got married in November 2015, earlier this year, Rylan took a break from work to help focus on his marriage to Dan.

Rylan paused his work on Radio 2 and The One Show for five months but has recently returned to Tv this September.

He said:“Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

“I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Late last month, Rylan recently stopped wearing his wedding ring.

It is reported that the “only way forward” for the couple was to divorce.

The Brinkwire has reached out to Rylan’s representatives for comment.
