KIRSTY GALLACHER has told fans she’s “at a loss” following the death of broadcaster Renton Laidlaw this week.
Golf correspondent Renton Laidlaw died aged 82 after testing positive for coronavirus in hospital. It is believed he had been in poor health for some time. Following the news of his death, he has been remembered by many fans and colleagues around the world, including GB News presenter Kirsty Gallacher, 45.
Taking to her Twitter today, she wrote: “A very sad day today for my family and the global golf family with the sudden passing of our dear Renton Laidlaw.
“I am actually at a loss with this news. One of the greatest golf journalists & commentators of our time.
“Thank you Renton, we’ll miss you so much. Love you.”
Many of her 429,000 followers flocked to her post to send their condolences.

Kevan Brown wrote: “He was a great commentator, what a voice, sadly missed.”
“Sorry for your loss,” Stuart Vale commented.

Kingsman penned: “Deepest sympathy to all the family.”
The R&A also paid tribute to the late broadcaster on Twitter.
They commented: “We are deeply saddened to hear of Renton Laidlaw’s passing.
“With his distinctive Scottish voice, Laidlaw was one of golf’s most respected broadcasters and journalists, and provided great service and dedication to the sport.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”

Renton worked in television and radio for over 60 years.
He was best known for being one of the most recognisable voices and names in golf.
Throughout his career, he covered 165 majors including 58 Opens and 42 Masters.
Kirsty’s sad news comes just days after she celebrated her co-star Simon McCoy’s marriage.
The ex BBC broadcaster flashed his wedding ring in the studio on Tuesday after tying the knot with Dynasty star Emma Samms on Sunday.
The latter shared a picture of the pair from their big day on her Instagram page.
She wrote: “Yesterday was a very good day #mrandmrs.”
