A serious drink recall has been issued, and you should check your refrigerator as soon as possible.

The powdered Kool-Aid Tropical Punch and Country Time Lemonade drink mixes have been recalled by Kraft Heinz because they may contain small shards of sharp metal and glass. The recall affects 19-ounce and 82-ounce packages of both items, as well as “on-the-go” sticks, according to NPR. Customers can either return the items to the store for a refund or discard them.

Metal and glass particles were found in the production of Tropical Punch-flavored Kool-Aid powder and Country Time Lemonade powder, according to Kraft Heinz, therefore certain containers may have these problems. Based on the examination of third-party medical experts, the business asserts that the microscopic particle size makes harm or disease “unlikely.” Despite this, the company is issuing a recall and advising buyers not to gamble with their health.

According to Kraft Heinz director of public relations Jenna Thorton, the recalled goods can be identified further by their “best when used by” dates, which should all be between June 13, 2023 and Oct. 3, 2023. Customers can also call Kraft Heinz and offer their UPC code to verify whether their products are affected.

“In all of our goods, we are committed to upholding the highest safety and quality standards,” Thorton added. So far, no injuries, illnesses, or pain have been reported as a result of this recall.

Last week, Costco issued a direct warning in addition to Kraft Heinz’s declaration. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Kraft Heinz had alerted Costco to the recall, according to an online statement. On Monday, the FDA announced the recall on its own website.

“During an internal examination at the manufacturing facility, the problem was uncovered. The company is working with retailers and distributors to remove possibly compromised merchandise from circulation “According to the release, “Consumers who bought the items indicated below should not eat them and should return them to the store where they were purchased or throw them away. Consumers can contact Kraft Heinz… to find out if a product they bought is part of the voluntary recall and to get a refund if it is.” Refund requests should be directed to Kraft Heinz at 1-855-713-9237. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, the phone lines are open.
