Destiny 2 Exotics list – Every new Black Armory Exotic weapon and Exotic armour we know so far

With the arrival of Destiny 2 Forsaken, more Destiny 2 Exotics are now available to sample.

Vanilla Destiny and its expansions offered dozens of Exotics across all weapon types and armour classes – as well as the concept of Masterwork Catalysts and Year 2 continues the same trend.

On this page:

Exotics are yellow / golden class weapons and armour with unique perks and stats. These powerful and unique items have a catch; you are only be able to equip one Exotic weapon or armour at the same time. To clarify, only one yellow item can be available on each side of the load-out screen.

As well as changes to the way all armour works – increasing agility and damage recovery similar to how sub-classes worked in the original Destiny – Bungie also separately confirmed there are no unique weapon rolls, so each individual weapon will be the same stats as another (so no need to collect several Sunshots – they will all behave the same).

Post-release, however, introduced the chance an Exotic will be Masterwork, giving it bonus stats not seen elsewhere.

Exotics can be sourced in a number of ways:

The most difficult and powerful Exotics will require you to unlock and complete specific quests, which in the past have involved many steps and in the case of one or two, elaborate ARG-style puzzles to solve.

Certain Exotics can also be upgraded with Masterwork Catalysts, though finding them requires you to play certain activities and a dose of luck.

With the arrival of Forsaken, there are a new set of Exotics to find – some which will be added to the existing Exotic loot table, so decrypt those Engrams to be in with a chance of getting something new.

Thanks to the Destiny subreddit for filling in the gaps on several Curse of Osiris Exotic weapons and armour listed above.

Before release, Bungie were keen to drip feed details of Exotics to players through gameplay snippets and timed reveals. If you want to learn more about the above weapons, the following may help give you an idea of how the community discovered them and their possible importance.

First – Sunshot, Sweet Business and Riskrunner. These three Exotics are perhaps Destiny 2’s best well known, being the first to be revealed for the game and available as part of the Destiny 2 beta.

Their locations in the Destiny 2 beta is fairly straightforward. For each of the starting classes, you’ll receive one exclusively as part of the starting Homecoming mission:

In the final game, it’s likely these will be obtainable by every class in the final game. Until then, if you want to give them a spin in the beta, then start again and choose another class. Here’s how all three compare:

Sunshot

Sweet Business

Riskrunner

There are plenty of other Exotics we know about, some by name and others only by sight.

Borealis: This allows you to change between the three elemental attacks in one weapon, and is a timed PlayStation exclusive.

Coldheart: This Trace Rifle will be a timed exclusive with pre-orders of the game, to be rolled out to all players from December 5th:

It was first revealed an in interesting way, as part of an interview at E3’s Coliseum live stream with a replica held by The Big Show:

The Mysterious Box quest has now been concluded. Yet to start? The Machine Gun Frame quest steps will see you get underway. If you’re looking for more from the new DLC, then check out the Scourge of the Past raid.

Completing the above requires some serious Destiny 2 levelling of course, and it helps if you know how to complete the latest Ascendant Challenge and Blind Well and Oracle Engine Offering activities.

There’s also Exotics such as the Ace of Spades, the Chaperone and Malfeasance to unlock.

Graviton Lance

This appeared in gameplay footage released as part of the new EDZ Patrol space, a Void Pulse rifle with some unique perks, including Black Hole, with the third shot in a burst causing high damage. Here is Arekkz with a closer look:

Meanwhile, there are plenty of other Exotics showing up without names. IGN First showcased what looks like a new auto rifle, scout rifle (or possibly a strange new sniper rifle), which Arekkz Gaming delves into briefly:

Arekkz has also delved into all previously released footage and discovered likely Exotic weapons based on their appearance and other unique qualities, such as the “Dubious Volley” – an Arc Rocket Launcher that shoots a rapid volley of projectiles, named by the community due to its ‘Dubious’ perks – an Arc Shotgun with power cores that open up at the sides upon firing, as well as the “Gjallarhorn of Grenade Launchers”.

There is, of course, Exotic Armour. We’ve had a more sparing glimpse of these compared to weapons, but the following video from Arekkz points out one for each class, specifically Titan Gauntlets, Hunter Helmet and a Warlock Chest.

As mentioned, there are many more Exotics yet to be revealed for Destiny 2 – we may see more during gamescom, but expect the majority of them to wait until release on September 8 for consoles.
