Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has revealed that no one from Barcelona has contacted him over a move for Antoine Griezmann.
The France World Cup winner will call time on his five-year stay at Atletico after revealing last month that he will leave the Wanda Metropolitano this summer.
And it had been heavily mooted that Griezmann will end up at Atletico’s La Liga rivals Barcelona, who nearly signed the 28-year-old last summer.
But Atletico’s president has admitted he doesn’t have the ‘slightest idea’ where their star player will end up next season.
‘Griezmann has been with for five years and done a splendid job,’ Cerezo told Spanish broadcaster Onda Cero.
‘We have a good relationship. Nice, trustworthy. I hope wherever he goes he will be treated the same as he has been with us.
‘I don’t know where he’s going, he didn’t say. I don’t have the slightest idea where he will go. I don’t think anyone knows.’
Asked whether Barcelona have initiated transfer discussions over Griezmann, Cerezo replied: ‘No one from Barca has contacted me.’
