Gareth Bale’s agent insists his star player is ‘fine’ at Real Madrid despite increasing speculation that he will leave the club in the summer.
Bale has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer after falling down the pecking order, with Zinedine Zidane looking to get him off the club’s books.
The Welshman wasn’t included in Madrid’s squad for their 3-1 defeat by Real Sociedad last weekend, with Zidane claiming his intentions not to include Bale were ‘very clear’.
But on Tuesday, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has reiterated that his player has no immediate intentions of leaving.
‘Gareth is fine, he is still a Real player with three years left on his contract,’ Barnett is cited as saying by ESPN FC.
‘He has always been clear about that. And if he is picked he will play.
‘You would have to ask Mr Zidane what he wants to do, but Gareth will keep trying.’
Spanish outlet AS earlier reported that the relationship between Zidane and Bale is ‘past the point of repair.’
The 29-year-old former Premier League star has been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham following Zidane’s decision to leave him out of the squad.
Bale has enjoyed a more injury-free season than some previous campaigns, playing a part in 42 matches across all competitions. He has scored 14 goals and contributed six assists.
