Two terror suspects have been arrested in Istanbul during an anti-terror operation, Turkish security forces said on Thursday.

On May 9, members of far-left terror group DHKP/C shot and injured a person for allegedly selling drugs in Istanbul’s Sariyer district on the European side, according to police.

Early on Thursday, police conducted an anti-terror operation at four addresses in Sariyer to catch the suspect who reportedly shot the person.

A suspect with five criminal records and an arrest warrant was killed during a clash with security forces, police said. Two others who were inside a house with the suspect were arrested.

The DHKP/C is responsible for a number of terror attacks in Turkey, including a 2013 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Ankara which martyred a Turkish security guard.

The group is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the European Union.
