A THUG who beast his ex-girlfriend blind has boasted about being released from prison early after he served less than a third of his sentence.
Roseanne Sparkes, 22, was punched and had her head smashed against a wall in the horrific ordeal last year by Jack Marney.
And it happened just weeks after he was released after serving nine months in prison for violence against his previous girlfriend.
The 23-year-old thug was sentenced to 26 months on October 15 last year at Maidstone Crown Court for the assault on Roseanne.
She claims the brutal attack left her blind in her left eye for two weeks.
Yet to her disbelief, he was released in January after serving less time than his first stint behind bars, leaving his victim feeling like he’s “getting away with it”.
“He’s getting away with it yet his crimes are getting worse”
On social media, after a friend asked “Your back then boyo?”, Marney laughed “I am yes indeed lol”.
Roseanne now believes a housing association even held onto Marney’s social housing for him while he was banged up – and he’s now moved back into his old pad.
Struggling to move on from the attack, Roseanne claims she fears for her life after seeing her violent ex back on the streets so soon after attacking her.
However Jack was scathing towards Roseanne’s concerns and said he was “not bothered about the bird” and that he had “forgotten about it”.
Roseanne, from Maidstone, Kent, said: “His early release seems like a joke because they said he was sentenced to 26 months imprisonment.
“He’s done this before yet he’s getting less time in prison. He hasn’t had long enough.
“Before [when he attacked a previous partner] he got nine months, then he served from May until January for me. His sentence was less than the first time.
“I was told he got 26 months imprisonment, then he’s out in under a year. He’s getting away with it yet his crimes are getting worse.
“There’s no way I can forget about it. He’s out – I could bump into him at any time.”
Reliving the horrific attack, Roseanne said Jack attacked her just six weeks into the relationship.
She said he pinned her against the wall by her throat, smashing her head against the wall.
The thug then repeatedly punched her in the eye, screaming “I am not going back to prison for you” – leaving Roseanne fearing she was going to die.
Roseanne added she was only able to escape when Marney’s sister came round to the flat and saw her horrific injuries.
He pleased guilty to one count of assault – and now Roseanne is terrified she will bump into the violent beast.
Marney has also shown no remorse for the horror – and even claims it was “all blown out of proportion”.
He said: “I’m not bothered about the bird to be quite honest. She’s an ex for a reason.
“If it was that bad why didn’t I serve so long in prison?
“It’s in the past, I’ve forgotten about it. She’s doing it for attention.”
When the couple got together, the thug claimed he had been in prison for beating up a paedophile – not his girlfriend.
Roseanne said: “If I did see him, I don’t know what I’d do.
“I haven’t heard anything from him but I was told he was going to be moved out of Maidstone, yet he’s back in his original flat.
“It still plays in my mind in case I see him, but I know I’ve got to look forward now.
“I think he’s one of those men who likes to feel like he’s got power over a woman.
“I’ve been volunteering with a friend to keep my mind off it in the day.”
