A MINORITY of Liverpool fans have slammed Jurgen Klopp after Adam Lallana was named in the starting XI to face Burnley.
Lallana, 30, has been limited to just four starts in all competitions this season due to a fierce battle for places and injuries.
He is in the team to face Burnley ahead of the likes of Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri.
And some Liverpool supporters on Twitter are not impressed by Klopp’s decision to include Lallana, despite the German having the club dreaming of their first Premier League title.
One wrote: “#kloppout we are trying to win the league and you start Adam b***** Lallana.”
A second said: “Liverpool lineup. Lallana. Egyptian Stewart Downing. #kloppout.”
“ADAM LALLANA IS F****** W*** #KloppOut,” a third commented.
A fourth said: “Lallana still getting starts for Liverpool Football Club in 2019.
“Klopp’s loyalty to players and his stubbornness has cost us this season.
“It’s time to go. #KLOPPOUT.”
While a fifth commented: “Lallana starting? Is Klopp paid not to win the league?”
And a sixth said: “I hope Klopp will not regret starting with Lallana ahead of Shaq and Naby today for the rest of his tenure at Anfield.
“Could this decision be end of the title hopes?”
Klopp explained his decision to start Lallana in a pre-match broadcast interview with BT Sport.
“We had a complete training week and actually that’s how it is,” he said.
“If you have five sessions a week, everybody can show up and Adam was exceptional during the week.
“So, in a situation where you think a little bit how you can adjust one or two things, it’s smart.
“He trained well for a while already but this week was especially well – that’s the reason why he starts.”
