Residential house fire kills 8 in Russia’s Siberia

VLADIVOSTOK, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) — Eight people have been killed in a fire at a residential house in the town of Yurga, Russia’s southwestern Siberian Kemerovo Region, local news reported Tuesday.

One person was hospitalized as a result of the fire, the local branch of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

The fire was extinguished at 05:19 a.m. local time (2219 GMT), with five units of equipment and 19 people involved in the operation, the ministry said.

A probe is underway to find the cause of the fire and a criminal case has been initiated.
