Morocco’s RS Berkane advance to quarterfinals of CAF Confederations Cup

RABAT, March 10 (Xinhua) — Morocco’s RS Berkane defeated Congolese club AS Otoho 3-0 on Sunday night to book their ticket to the quarterfinals of CAF Confederations Cup.

At Berkane Municipal Stadium, Kodjo Laba gave the Moroccan team an early lead in the sixth minute, before Salman Ould Lhaj added the second goal at the 32nd minute.

In the second half, Abdesamad El Mobaraky scored the third goal of the game at the 50th minute.

In the other game of Group A, the two other Moroccan teams, defending champions Raja Casablanca and HUSA Agadir draw 0-0.

After the fifth group game, RS Berkane lead with 11 points, followed by AS Otoho and HUSA Agadir with five points each, while Raja Casablanca remain in the last spot with only four points.

Apart from RS Berkane, the other three teams all have the chance to qualify after the last group round where title holders Raja Casablanca will travel to Congo Brazzaville to meet AS Otoho, while HUSA Agadir will host RS Berkane.
