MANCHESTER UNITED news and gossip – Starsport brings you all the latest from Old Trafford.
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil brutally trolled Jesse Lingard following today’s 2-0 defeat.
The Red Devils won at the Emirates earlier in the season to knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup.
Lingard scored that day and having celebrated his goal with a moonwalk, he angered Gunners fans by tagging the location as ‘dancefloor’ in a post on Instagram.
But after Arsenal got their revenge today, Ozil poked fun at Lingard, who missed the clash through injury.
“The referee will be disappointed when he sees it.”
Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
“Dancefloor huh!?” he tweeted.
“Superb performance! Brilliant result! Thank you Emirates Stadium!
“Proud to be a Gunner! #YaGunnersYa #M1Ö #WeAreTheArsenal @Arsenal.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit out at referee Jon Moss following today’s defeat at Arsenal.
Aubameyang netted Arsenal’s second goal from the spot after Moss awarded a penalty following Alexandre Lacazette’s collision with Fred.
And Solskjaer insists the decision was incorrect.
“We created so many more chances today than when we beat them in the FA Cup,” he said.
“Sometimes it happens, we hit the woodwork twice and had five very big chances ourselves.
“The referee will be disappointed when he sees it as I don’t think it is a penalty.
“We just had to go for it towards the end.
“But we were not really at it and it is one of those days where you have to dust yourselves down from.
“We have Wolves in the cup quarter-finals and it’s a big game to look forward to.”
Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Manchester United.
The Brazilian has confided in a number of United’s Spanish players that he would love a move to Old Trafford.
It is understood the former Liverpool man has grown increasingly unsettled in Spain since his switch there 14 months ago for a whopping £142m.
The attacking midfielder has only scored four La Liga goals in the current campaign, is in and out of the team and is not a favourite of the Nou Camp fans.
Barca’s £65m capture of Ajax star Frenkie de Jong for next season will also drop Coutinho further down the pecking order.
United are ready to splash big in the summer and know that Coutinho could be theirs for a knockdown £86m.
