MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS: Starsport brings you the predicted line-up for Manchester United’s Premier League fixture at Arsenal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils are looking for their 10th straight away victory in all competitions today at the Emirates.
United clinched a club-record ninth with their miraculous 3-1 win at the Parc des Princes against PSG on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
And attention now returns to the Premier League with plenty riding on this afternoon’s result (4.30pm).
Manchester United will go level on points with third-placed Tottenham if they pick up three points and they would subsequently move four points clear of Arsenal in fifth.
A bonus for Solskjaer heading into the contest against long-term rivals Arsenal is the interim manager has more players returning from injury.
Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera have been absent for a couple of weeks, with the latter having picked up a muscle injury in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool a fortnight ago.
But the midfield pair are back just in time, with Solskjaer suggesting they will be in his squad today.
Fred, who has struggled to establish himself in the side since his £52m summer arrival, shone against PSG, and Andreas Pereira has had a top week in the middle too.
“Paul Pogba, meanwhile, is available once again”
Pereira notched a goal and an assist in last weekend’s 3-2 win over Southampton before also playing well in France.
However, he and Fred are the likely to lose their places in the starting XI for the crucial trip to Arsenal if Matic and Herrera are fully fit.
Paul Pogba, meanwhile, is available once again, having travelled to Paris but missed the midweek Champions League tie through suspension.
That means Scott McTominay will likely be replaced too with United’s midfield getting a total makeover.
In attack, Anthony Martial is also fit and ready to fire again following his spell out through injury, so he should start to help Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford torment the hosts’ backline.
In defence for United, the standard back four of Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Ashley Young is expected to line up in front of David de Gea.
Solskjaer’s team have been difficult to break down, especially away from home, with the partnership between Smalling and Lindelof proving to be top drawer under the new regime.
Manchester United predicted team (4-3-3): De Gea; Shaw, Smalling, Lindelof, Young; Pogba, Matic, Herrera; Martial, Lukaku, Rashford
