LIVERPOOL will take on Chelsea in the third round of the Carabao Cup and the date and kick-off time has now been confirmed.

The competition have announced the Reds will take on the Blues on Wednesday, September 26.

The match has also been selected for Sky Sports coverage and will kick-off at 7.45pm.

Manchester United against Derby will also be shown on Tuesday, September 25.

And Everton v Southampton is set to take place on Tuesday, October 2 but will not be shown on TV.

Liverpool have not beaten Chelsea at Anfield since 2012, a total of eight games across all competitions.

The Premier League giants clashing is without doubt the standout tie of the round.

Tottenham will face Watford and have been granted special dispensation to play at Stadium MK as their new stadium is not yet ready to be used and Wembley is unavailable.

The third round sees the Premier League big boys enter the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool have made a fast start to the new season, winning all four of their top-flight fixtures.

Chelsea have also impressed in emerging victorious from their four matches.
