LIVERPOOL must drop one of his midfielders against Burnley in order to rekindle their attacking mojo.
Liverpool are battling Manchester City for the Premier League but the momentum has switched over to Pep Guardiola’s men at a crucial time.
At one stage, the Reds were seven points clear but they find themselves four points behind their Manchester rivals ahead of their crucial clash against Burnley.
In recent weeks, Jurgen Klopp has found his side lacking attacking impetus – failing to score in three of their last four matches.
One of the reasons behind it, that has been talked up by pundits, has been an absence of creative flair from midfield.
Against Everton, Klopp went with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield.
And despite having Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri on the bench, the German manager opted to use James Milner as a substitute.
None of them are known as attacking midfielders and Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has told the former Borussia Dortmund boss to abandon either Henderson or Fabinho in his team selection today.
“I think the area now is going to be looked at,” Thompson said.
“You would imagine the front three are going to start.
“So it’s that area just in behind and what Jurgen Klopp is going to come up with.
“Henderson and Fabinho for me are too similar for a game like this at home.
“You’ve got to change that, only one of them can play.”
Liverpool face Bayern Munich midweek in another huge clash in the Champions League.
With that in mind, Klopp may be forced into some rotation today to keep his players from fatigue and injury.
