HORROR: Chilling accounts of how 9/11 terrified the US have been revealed

Tuesday marks the 17th anniversary of the September 11 atrocity which killed 2,997 people and injured more than 6,000.

The suicide missions saw hijacked passenger planes flown into the Pentagon and the Twin Towers of New York’s World Trade Center.

Connecting over the World Wide Web, users begged one another to share their knowledge as chaos unfolded in the Big Apple.

As news emerged that lower Manhattan was being evacuated, one user wrote: “I’m in New York f****ing glued to my computer.

“I’m getting the news in between answering panicked phone calls from friends, family and business contacts.”

“There aren’t any TVs here at the office…we’re huddling around the radio…

“I’m getting the news in between answering panicked phone calls from friends, family and business contacts.”

Another simply added: “I’m feeling the need to leave the country.”

One desperate onlooker, who claims to have worked in the Twin Towers, said they were “sickened” by the attack.

They wrote: “I personally can’t even process what’s happened yet.

“The Towers had tens of thousands of people inside them every day – a city within a city.

“I’m afraid for one of my relatives who may well have been there, and sickened by the knowledge that I’ll soon be learning of the deaths of people I’ve met or worked with.”

Last week Daily Star Online revealed how Donald Trump himself joined conspiracy theorists in claiming bombs were pre-planted inside the Towers.

Trump described the North tower of the WTC as a “very, very strong building”, he suggested that twin bombs could have caused it to collapse.

He added: “I can’t imagine anything being able to go through that wall.”
