Honeytrap student who lured millionaire TV exec to his gruesome death is now wife of rising Labour star and ‘about to become a MAYORESS’

Mundill Mahil married Labour councillor Varinder Singh Bola in 2016 after serving only three years following her conviction for GBH

A FORMER medical student who lured a millionaire TV exec into a deadly “honeytrap” is set to become a London mayoress four years after leaving prison.

Mundill Mahil married Labour councillor Varinder Singh Bola in 2016 after rebuilding her life following her conviction for GBH in 2012.

Mr Bola is now the mayor-elect of the London borough of Redbridge which means his wife will be afforded the pomp and circumstance of his office despite serving only three years behind bars.

She was jailed after she invited an infatuated Gagandip Singh, 21, to her student flat in Brighton where he was beaten over the head by Harvinder Shoker in 2011.

Singh was then tied up and thrown in the boot of a car which was set on fire.

Shoker got life for murder, while another man, Darren Peters, was locked up for 12 years for manslaughter.

Mahil was jailed for six years for causing grievous bodily harm – but was released on license in 2014 after serving half of her sentence.

She has since become a personal trainer and married Bola – one of the Labour Party’s rising stars.

This week, Mr Bola announced that he is the mayor-elect of Redbridge – which is one of the UK capital’s fastest growing boroughs.

Mahil’s accession from convict to mayoress after serving only half her sentence has angered the family of her victim.

Mr Singh’s sister Amandip, 26, told the Mail Online that Mahil has never apologised for the crime she committed against her late-brother.

She said: “That woman lured my brother to a horrible death and yet served just three years in prison for it.”

Amandip says her family has struggled to cope with her brother brutal murder while Mahil has been allowed to “ingratiate herself into polite society.”

She said: “But she doesn’t deserve any of it.”

The 26-year-old added: “Not once has she ever admitted her guilt or apologised to us.”

Earlier this week, Mr Bola posted on Twitter: ‘I’m over the moon to be confirmed as the Mayor-Elect for the London Borough of Redbridge.

“It’s an incredible privilege to step into the role of Mayor following the incredible Cllr @DebbieThiara and represent the Borough I love and have lived in my whole life.”

The Sun Online has approached the Labour Party for comment.
