The latest Famitsu has some new details regarding the overall future of the Tales of franchise at Bandai Namco.
In the magazine, there’s an interview with Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition producer Yusuke Tomizawa and chief director on the original version of the game Yoshito Higuchi. Tomizawa confirms that he is now the producer on the series, including the June 2018-announced new and mainline game in the series.
Also noted in the interview is that the company is planning further remasters and remakes based entirely on fan requests.
While they’re focusing first on putting out the new console game, they noted the recently announced Tales of Crestoria is not connected to other titles at all, is not a cross-franchise game, and has a brand new story.
The latest mainline game in the series, Tales of Berseria, is now available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the game here (we recommend it!).
