A WOMAN went on a terrifying knife rampage after a stranger “looked at her funny”.
Carla Couperthwaite, 22, spent five minutes trying to get into a corner shop with witnesses saying she was “frothing at the mouth”.
Bolton Crown Court heard a young man was seen fleeing Couperthwaite and ran across the road to barricade himself in the shop as she unleashed a “frightening and ferocious” attack.
Her lawyer Nicholas Ross told the court she felt the man had been “looking at her on a number of occasions in a manner she felt was troubling”.
Adding: “What she did then however has absolutely no excuse. She is ashamed by her conduct.”
CCTV shows the attack which happened on February 4.
A drunk Couperthwaite is seen trying to get into the shop before turning on a second man walking past.
She seemed to berate the man as she kicked him.
Police were called and they tracked Couperthwaite at her mum’s house nearby.

She has previous convictions for violence and later admitted she had been drinking heavily.
She was jailed for 16 months after she pleaded guilty to affray and possessing a bladed article in a public place.
Judge Timothy Stead said: “The current climate amounts to it being mentioned every time you turn on the television news.
“The knife which features in this case was brought to court and I actually have it in my chambers. It appears to be a steak knife with a serrated blade.”
The blade was blunted at the end which the judge said showed how forcefully she had stabbed at the door.
Judge Timothy Stead slammed the young woman, adding: “You are 22-years-old and you have a lengthy record of offences for somebody your age.
“Heavy drinking and intoxication seem to be a big part of your life and it featured in this offence.”
The second man involved in the attack has not been identified.
