President Ashraf Ghani along with a delegation of high-ranking officials arrived in Paktika province Saturday morning , the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
According to the President’s office, Ghani will hold separate meetings with religious scholars, tribal elders, teachers, provincial council members, women, youth and civil society members.
Ghani also officially opened the new provincial governor’s building at an event attended by civilian and military officials and provincial elders.
The recently completed building cost of AFs13 million to build.
During his visit to the province Ghani will also meet provincial security officials and will be briefed on the province’s security situation, the President’s office said.
This comes after a string of visits to provinces by Ghani in the past few weeks, including Kandahar, Helmand, Ghazni and Paktia.
