FORMER Saint-Etienne star William Gomis has reportedly been shot dead.
Gomis, 19, was reportedly killed yesterday in La Seyne-sur-Mer.

His ex-club said in a statement: “AS Saint-Étienne, with immense sadness, has learnt of the tragic death of William Gomis which occurred last night.
“Appreciated by his former teammates and educators for his human qualities, the young player, who would have turned 20 in December, did all his training at the club where he had arrived at the age of 15.
“He came from the class of 1998, that of Arnaud Nordin, Mahdi Camara, Cyril Martin-Pichon, Ronael Pierre-Gabriel and Anthony Maisonnial, so many friends with whom he shared great joy and followed his apprenticeship.
“Aspiring then intern, he left the ASSE last June after his five-year training cycle.
“This solid and elusive defender has contributed, during the 2017-2018 season, the accession of the reserve team to the National Championship 2.”
Tributes poured in for the defender.
One wrote: “Only 19. This is heartbreaking. Prayers for the family of William Gomis.”
