REAL MADRID players are queueing up to reject Jose Mourinho’s potential return to the club.
The Spanish giants are in crisis at present after crashing out of the Champions League and Copa del Rey in recent weeks.
And Madrid look to have lost out to Barcelona once again when it comes to the battle for La Liga, with the Catalan outfit sitting 12 points ahead of their rivals.
Santiago Solari is now facing a bleak future at the Bernabeu and reports have suggested Mourinho is the man to replace him.
But according to the Daily Mail, four key Madrid stars are dead-set against the Portuguese boss returning for a second stint at the club.
The publication claims captain Sergio Ramos, along with Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Marcelo have all voiced concerns over Mourinho’s reported return.
However, Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to have told players they will not influence his decision.
The Mail claim the Bernabeu chief is set to make a decision on Solari’s successor by the end of the day.
Mourinho could be brought in immediately to take over first-team affairs, or at the end of the current campaign.
Ramos, though, is said to be unhappy with the Mourinho rumours and will likely seek a move away from the Spanish capital if a deal transpires.
The 32-year-old is enduring a tough time at present after a testing week on and off the field.
Reports in Spain suggest Ramos and team-mate Marcelo clashed on Saturday in training.
Marca report the duo got into a confrontation after emotions ran high in a small-sided practice match.
Ramos was not involved as Madrid beat Real Valladolid on Sunday, thanks to goals from Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Raphael Varane.
