A FATHER murdered his toddler son by tying him to his pram and pushing him in the sea because his wife went out partying without him, according to police.
Wael Nabil Salman Zureikat, from Jordan, allegedly killed the one-year-old when the family were on holiday in Pattaya, Thailand.
He was angered by his partner going out and leaving him to babysit.
It is claimed that Zureikat, 52, “decided to kill” the infant by tying his feet to a stroller and running it off a pier last Friday.
The toddler’s floating body was seen by locals who thought he was a doll before police recovered the body from the water still attached to the pram.
A boat captain reportedly said: “I was taking tourists to an island and on the way back I noticed a body floating in the water.
“I saw it from far away and thought it was a doll, but when I went closer I saw it wasn’t the body of a doll and called the police.”
A manhunt began for Zureikat who had attempted to flee the country.
He was arrested at Bangkok Airport trying to board a plane.
Zureikat was forced to reenact the alleged incident and he is pictured pointing at the water where it is believed he pushed the pram.
Local media reports claim that police say he acted out of anger and then regretted what he had done after returning to his hotel room.
It is also alleged that Zureikat admitted to police that he killed the baby.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Piyapong Ensarn reportedly said: “Police were notified of the body floating in the water at the Bali Hai Pier and we arrived at the scene to check.
“There was a young child between one years old and two years old who had been dead for two or three days.
“The body was examined and found that the left leg was tied to a pushchair and found no signs of being hurt.
“He said he had been to Pattaya many times and his wife had agreed to look after the baby.
“She went outside to bars to party and he did not want to stay alone looking after their son.
“He said he decided to kill the boy then try to fly home but he was captured at the airport.”
