‘GRIM’: A family claims they found “sick in a drawer” in their Pontins room

Grandmother Christine Sepahi, who took her five-year-old granddaughter to Pontins Prestatyn Sands, said their week-long holiday lasted less than a day after stepping foot into their allocated room.

She claims the room was covered in dirt, had sticky floors and had “thick black gunge on skirting boards”.

She said: “We were given room 373 in block 39, and when I first opened the door, the smell just hit me.

“It was a pungent smell, a mix of sweat and dirt.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was thick black gunge on the skirting boards, crumbs and dirt everywhere, and even holes in the chairs.

“When I walked in, the floor was sticky, like you might expect in a pub.”

Ms Sepahi also claims there were “overpowering vomit stains” in the drawer.

She added: “The next draw down had some cereal discarded in it, and this smelt just as bad – I’m not sure if any vomit had ran down, but I don’t know if any attempt had been made to clean it.

“I wasn’t about the open the final draw to find out what was in there.”

The Coventry Telegraph reports the holidaymakers were forced to stay in a hotel after cutting short their stay.

She reportedly said staff at reception apologised but didn’t offer help or compensation.

More than 1,700 people have left damming reviews on the resort’s Trip Advisory under the “terrible” experience section.

One guest described finding a dirty nappy down the side of their sofa bed, “blood and pubic hairs in the beds” and dirt on every surface.

Daily Star Online has approached Pontins for comment.
