Ex-footie hooligan ‘One Eyed Baz’ steps in to HELP Jack Grealish troll

AN ex-football hooligan dubbed “One Eyed Baz” has said he is the “right person” to sort out a troll who mocked Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

The keyboard warrior, believed to be a teenager from the Midlands, posted a sick message on Twitter about Grealish’s brother Keelan Daniel, who tragically died in his cot.

He shared the tweet after Grealish netted the winner in Aston Villa’s dramatic 1-0 win over local rivals Birmingham City at the St Andrew’s stadium.

Barrington Patterson, known as One Eyed Baz, afterwards said he would be “sorted the right way”.

Baz – former member of the Birmingham Zulus – then confirmed he is meeting up with the troll and his dad today so the youngster can try and redeem himself.

The 53-year-old has helped run the Birmingham Homeless Support Team, collecting and donating clothing and other practical supplies directly to the city’s rough sleepers, since 2015, and is trying to get the teen involved.

Baz tweeted: “For those commenting I’m not the right person I feel I am as I’m still paying 20yrs later for a charge that was not football related people always remember the mistakes not what u do after I have raised over £100-000 for local charities.

“I have supported many people but I will always be known as ex hooligan etc so yes I am the right person and I hope to help him salvage his education to make a better person of himself have a blessed day.” (sic)

Grealish was punched in the head by a pitch invader ten minutes into a Sunday clash with Birmingham City.

His attacker Paul Mitchell, 27, was jailed for 14 weeks and ordered to pay the star £100 in compensation for the assault yesterday.

He was also hit with an £115 victim surcharge, £135 in prosecution costs, and given a fortnight to pay the total sum of £350.

An online fundraising campaign has since been launched to the help Mitchell pay the funds.

The campaigners left this message on GoFundMe: “We’d like to raise a bit of money to help Paul pay his fine to a millionaire Grealish and help his pregnant partner get by whilst he’s away for a bit.

“Thanks in advance.”
