THE Emmerdale actor spent hours in A&E after dropping a heavy weight on himself in the gym.
Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas, who played Adam Barton in the soap was rushed into hospital after he dropped a 50kg weight onto his face, while working out in the gym.
Posting to his Instagram story, the I’m a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! star posted a pic to his 748,000 followers, showing him with a battered face and wearing a hospital gown.
The 30-year old’s face was largely swollen with a deep cut under his right eye.
Alongside the pic, Adam penned a comedic captain which read: “I only dropped a 50kg weight on my face I don’t need a gown…but I’ll take one”.
As well as another caption joking about his banged up face: “Feeling sorry for myself, don’t think I’ll be able to work for a week…good job I don’t have a job.”
Flanked by family, the soap star was accompanied by his twin brother Scott Thomas who featured in another Instagram post that showed the LoveIsland star keeping a watchful eye over a bed-ridden Adam.
In a sweet caption, Adam wrote: “Three hours in A&E with this guy. I don’t know which is worse, but I’m glad he was there by my side.”
He then warned: “It’s about time we spoke out and let others know that if you’re an idiot, gyms are dangerous places.’
Adam followed up the pic with more hilarious Instagram story snaps that documented the whole incident.
One showed a banquet of food from the hospital shop, as well as another showing the star all stitched–up.
Adam Thomas left Emmerdale last year after eight years in the role as Adam Barton.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7:30pm on ITV.
