Driver dies after collision with Cave Creek school bus; 4 students injured

The driver of a vehicle in a crash with a Cave Creek school bus Wednesday has died, Scottsdale police said.

In a statement, police identified the vehicle driver as 63-year-old Michael J. Muller. Authorities said Muller died at the hospital as a result of his injuries from the crash.

Muller rear-ended a Cave Creek Unified School District bus around 3:15 p.m. near 136th Street and Rio Verde Drive. District officials said the bus was transporting middle school and high school students. 

Four students were taken to hospitals for survivable injuries, authorities said. The students’ names and ages were not released.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident’s cause.
