Dancing on Ice star says Gemma Collins and Jason Gardiner are ‘faking it for scores’

LOOSE Women regular Saira Khan has given her take on Gemma Collins and Jason Gardiner’s infamous TV feud.

The outspoken panellist starred alongside the TOWIE gal on this year’s series of Dancing On Ice.

Over the past few months, Gemma has dominated headlines thanks to her shocktastic antics and no holds barred attitude.

In jaw-dropping scenes, the reality TV regular shouted down the dancing pro and accused him of selling stories on her.

Earlier this week Jason was accused of referring to Gemma as a fridge after saying he thought “The GC” – Gemma’s alter-ego – was the make of a kitchen appliance.

Now 2019 contestant Saira has heaped praised on the duo, claiming she thinks their clashes have been a ploy to turn the show into unmissable TV.

Chatting to Daily Star Online, Saira, who has teamed up with Direct Line to launch a new podcast Living Your Best Life with Saira Khan, said: “I think it is all for the ratings.

“Jason is a clever man. He has been in the game for a long time and he is thick-skinned.

“On a one-to-one he is a really lovely guy. Some of the things he says I know it’s not him… it’s his pantomime character.”

She continued: “What they [Gemma and Jason] have done is give the show the best ratings it has ever had.

“The ratings were because of Gemma Collins and the feud with Jason. It is very clever.

“They have made the show successful. It is business. People forget that media is a business and they need audience figures to sell adverts.”

Heaping praise on the duo, the 49-year-old added: “They have done a job perfectly in terms of promoting the show and also entertained the nation.”

Gemma sensationally pulled out of this weekend’s live final after accusing Jason of “bullying her” throughout the series.

However, latest reports claim she will actually be taking to the ice on Sunday.

Insisting Gemma is a lot calmer when the cameras aren’t rolling, Saira said: “All of us do get on really well backstage… we are a good team.

“Whether Gemma turns up or not I don’t know but I really hope she does.

“She is a very bright woman. She is of the moment. She knows how to work PR.

“She is dramatic, she had her alter ego. You have to take her for was she is.”.

Once Dancing On Ice is wrapped up Saira will release a six-part podcast called Living Your Best Life with Saira Khan.

Launching on March 14, the podcast aims to help motivate and inspire people to achieve more in life.

Talking about the project, Saira said: “Just a fifth of people are happy with how their life is going.

“As a working mum-of-two the sentiment that some people are just in the rat race and accepting it is definitely a chat I think is going on around the dinner table.

“It hasn’t got a lot to do with money it is all about mind set.

“For me education is key. There is no easy way to make it. You have to work hard for it.”
