CELTIC fans dubbed youngster Kris Ajer the “new Virgil van Dijk” after his comments in the press conference.
The Hoops are preparing to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
Interim boss Neil Lennon will be looking for a third win in three since taking over last week.
Fans have hailed the manager for his impact on the squad.
And Ajer, who is in his third season with the Hoops, has revealed his feelings on the 47-year-old.
In the clip, one of the journalists asks about the impact of Lennon’s arrival.
“I think the gaffer’s been fantastic,” Ajer said.
“He’s been really taking care of the whole squad, talking to individuals.
“The togetherness in the dressing room has been really good.
“And our captain [Scott Brown] has been a real leader.
“This boy has the potential to be as good as VVD”
“The whole feeling of the club is just looking forward now.”
Another journalist asks about the feeling of encouragement around Celtic Park.
Ajer added: “I think it’s always good to have the gaffer showing belief in you.
“We had a good talk during the week.
“It’s been really encouraging for the squad.”
And the Celtic faithful heaped praise on the Norwegian.
“He’s a Celtic guy,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Ajer is the perfect man to build the defence around.”
While a third compared him to a former player.
“This boy has the potential to be as good as VVD [Virgil van Dijk],” they said.
“Still a bit to go but he has all the tools.”
The Dutchman spent three seasons with the Hoops, making 115 appearances before moving to Southampton in 2015.
And the 27-year-old is now touted as one of the world’s best defenders.
A fourth added: “I really rate him.”
This comes as fans demanded Lennon promote two academy players after their stunning goals.
