5.9-magnitude quake strikes off Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture

TOKYO, March 11 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 on Monday struck off the east shore of Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The temblor occurred at about 2:11 a.m. local time, with its epicenter at a latitude of 36.8 degrees north and a longitude of 142.5 degrees east, and at depth of 10 km.
