10 killed, 2 injured in jeep accident in Western Nepal

KATHMANDU, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) — Ten people were killed and two others injured when a jeep slipped off a mountain road and plunged down in the river in Dolpa district of Western Nepal on Monday, police said.

The jeep, enroute to Tripurakot from Dunai city, plunged down into Thulibheri River, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abadhesh Bista.

“Ten died on the spot while two were seriously injured. We are yet to ascertain the cause of the incident,” Bista told Xinhua via phone from Dolpa.

The police have launched a probe into the accident, he added.
