Brendan Greene, aka PlayerUnknown, is shifting to a brand new improvement position on PUBG

Brendan Greene, the creator of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has announced that he is moving on from his position as the director of development on PUBG. Instead, Greene is joining a new division of PUBG Corp. called PUBG Special Projects.

“It’s been an incredible journey and our game has reached heights I never thought possible. Seeing the game grow into what it is today has been a dream come true and I can’t thank our fans and the incredible team at PUBG Corporation enough,” Greene, who has spent the better part of five years working on the game, said in his statement about changing roles within the company.

As part of his move to this new division, Greene will also by moving from the PUBG Corp. studio in Seoul, South Korea, to one located in Amsterdam, where he plans to build a new team. Greene, who is probably better known as PlayerUnknown, said that this new division of the company will focus on “research and game development.”

It’s unclear if this means the new team will work on future changes to PUBG, or if it will be more focused on other projects entirely. The only information on the new team and PUBG Corp. division that exists right now is a hiring page on the company’s website.

This change in roles within the company will move Greene away from the day-to-day operations of PUBG, but he will remain on the team as the consulting creative director for the game.
