Arcadia owned Topshop/Topman has announced the opening of the second flagship in the U.S., bringing both brand's joint style authority and brave trend-setting approach to fashion to Chicago's Magnificent Mile.

Topshop/Topman Chicago will boast the same selection of trend-driven pieces, specialized collaborations and bespoke services that both brands have become known for. With covetable collections available to the price-conscious consumer, Topshop/Topman have long had their legions of followers, and as British high-street style champions, Topshop/Topman remains a favourite amongst industry insiders alike.

Similarly designed in the spirit of London's iconic Oxford Circus store, Topshop/Topman Chicago will be outfitted with a modern and sleek décor, including lacquer finishes and suspended glass fixtures, super slick walls and stark white tiled floors.

Set across the cellar and first floor, Topshop will showcase Unique, the directional collection presented at London Fashion Week, along with exclusive designer collaborations with many of New Gen’s young talent, as well as the extensive trend-driven mainline. The first floor will host the Boutique area, featuring limited edition ranges and premium styles. An impressive denim range by MOTO, a vast shoe lounge, and a breadth of casualwear, lingerie, as well as Petite, Tall and Maternity will be also available. Topman announce shoe collaboration with Marc Hare

Topman has announced it will be collaborating with Marc Hare, the man behind the much lauded Mr Hare shoe brand, to launch his first ever footwear collaboration this autumn with the high street store.

The collection - which will form part of the Topman AAA range - contains ten styles across both shoes and boots including evening loafers and hi-shine hi-tops. The collection will launch in two parts - the first at the end of August 2011 and the second at the end of October 2011 and will be available on-line and at the Oxford Circus, New York and Chicago stores.

"The inclusion of Marc Hare to Topman’s ever increasing stable of designer collaborations is such an honour. Long being a fan of his beautiful elegant understated shoes it is such a pleasure to be able to introduce this collection specifically designed for our AAA range," said Gordon Richardson, Topman design director.

Marc’s impeccable attention to detail is inherent across all the designs as is his personality – he has incorporated an element of fun into each pair. Designs come from the heart, each created from his desire to produce a shoe not lacking in style or quality, with all the signs of perfection at an affordable price making them obtainable to all.

Marc Hare, designer, commented: "I never understood why girls had all the fun when it came to shoes, especially as, when it comes down to it, he who rocks the illest chaussures is always the one they want to talk to, so seeing my shoes up in the AAA line and knowing that more guys are going to get their shoe game together, means a lot to me. Topman launches The Swimwear Project

Topman has launched The Swimwear Project, which is another in a series of projects whereby Topman invite selected designers to recreate a particular staple from a Man's wardrobe. For this project, Bernhard Willhelm, Jonathan Saunders, Cassette Playa, Gary Card and Todd Selby have all been asked to design their perfect pair of swim shorts.

Gordon Richardson, design director for Topman, said: "The Swim Project is where Topman turns up the print volume. Designers well known for their visual stance have produced a diverse range of graphics and illustrations ranging from photo real images through to faded florals to hand drawn sketches in a collection that goes from poolside to beach in great style."

Having graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Antwerp, German born Bernhard Willhelm is now a regular on the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week. His often avant-garde designs have always caught the eye and this is perfectly demonstrated in his swim design- a short speedo style trunk complete with trompe l'oeil zip and available in a royal blue and red colourway.

Scottish born Jonathan Saunders has now created a cult following both sides of the Atlantic for his technical one of a kind prints. His design is a ¾ lengthy short in turquoise blue with rose, pink and ecru floral prints.

London based designer Cassette Playa has grown a reputation as a designer of street and urbanwear following her collaborations with Nike, Swatch and M.IA. Having previously shown as part of the Topman sponsored MAN event, she was the perfect choice for this project. Her short is knee length with one leg block coloured in pink and the other leg featuring a photographic print of a shark.

Gary Card is a sought after set designer who has worked with the likes of Vogue, Lady Gaga and Stella McCartney in the past. His playful design features prints of his favourite toys and a purple waistband. Card will also be designing the window scheme for this project.

New York photographer and blogger Todd Selby is the final designer invited to take part in this project. Famed for his website The Selby, Todd has demonstrated his love of cats by designing a three quarter length short complete with hand drawn kittens adorning the whole short.

Designed in house, Topman Design completes the line up for this project. Its design is a beige short with contrast orange drawstring and a print of an old fashioned bicycle over the front and back of the short.

Shorts will be available from the flagship London and New York stores and on line at topman.com.

Topman announce exclusive sunglass for Rock You Shades day

Topman is proud to announce it is producing four exclusive designs of sunglasses to help raise much needed funds and increase awareness for the Teenage Caner Trust and the charity's Rock Your Shades day on Friday 6th May.

Simon Davies, CEO at Teenage Cancer Trust said: "At Teenage Cancer Trust we are thrilled to be working with Topman to raise awareness and vital funds for young people with cancer. Topman have come on board as supporters for the next three years, the difference they can make will be huge."

Each style has been designed with the input of young cancer patients who were treated in a Teenage Cancer Trust unit and feature doodles, the former patients initials and drawings of objects that hold a special personal meaning to each individual involved in the design process.

The four sunglasses are divided into two different styles. One, a 50's retro style wayfarer shape available in black with an all over white graphic and white with a vivid multi-coloured all over graphic. The other, a 70's style clubmaster shape available with the same graphic design either in white with an all over print or in grey with an internal print only.

Every day six young people in the UK are told they have cancer. Usually placed on a children's ward or with elderly patients, young people often feel extremely isolated when facing a cancer diagnosis, never meeting another young person going through the same thing. Teenage Cancer Trust believes teenagers shouldn't stop being teenagers because they have cancer, so it funds and builds specialist units in NHS hospitals that allow young people to be treated together with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs.

Teenage Cancer Trust units aren't like ordinary cancer wards. Its home-from-home atmosphere helps create a sense of normality. The state-of-the-art units are bright and vibrant and will often include things like pool tables, jukeboxes, games consoles, computers and webcams, ensuring they can keep in touch with family friends outside hospital.

The exclusive Topman sunglasses for Teenage Cancer Trust's Rock Your Shades can be purchased from all Topman stores and online at topman.com and will cost £16 each, with £5 of every pair sold donated to the charity.

Topman continues its support for menswear at London Fashion Week

Topman has announced that it will be offering the use of its official venue The Royal Opera House to two additional designers during Menswear Day at London Fashion Week in February.

E Tautz (honoured this year's Menswear Designer of the Year Award at the British Fashion Awards) and Lou Dalton, (NewGen Men award winner for a second consecutive season) will show in addition to the Topman DESIGN and MAN shows at the ROH on February 23rd.

Topman will show Topman DESIGN solo for its third season during the official LFW Menswear Day - previously shown as part of MAN - which it co-founded six years ago with Lulu Kennedy of Fashion East. MAN has been instrumental in raising the profile of new British menswear designers to an international audience. In recognition of this success, Fashion East's Lulu Kennedy and Topman have, with the support from the British Fashion Council and the London Development Agency, curated London Fashion Week's first dedicated menswear line-up.

Gordon Richardson, Topman design director, said: "The initial MAN concept was to provide a platform for the wealth of menswear talent that was going unnoticed in the UK. From its modest inception eight seasons ago, to an established talent launch pad, this season MAN has curated a significantly larger showcase at LFW: a testament to the amount of creative menswear designers operating in Britain today. Our aim is to nurture this showcase and grow it organically from season to season. It's a very exciting prospect."

Topman Design announces 2nd solo show to be held at the Royal Opera House

Topman Design has announced it is to showcase its second consecutive solo show at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden on September 22nd as part of the ever growing menswear day at London Fashion Week.

Until last season when the debut solo show was held at the official British Fashion Council (BFC) Tents, Topman Design had shown on-schedule as part of the increasingly successful MAN event which Topman set up alongside Fashion East eleven seasons ago. This season, Topman Design will share the Royal Opera House venue with MAN, whose show will follow Topman Design later in the afternoon at 12.30pm.

This season the Topman Design show will be streamed live on topman.com and londonfashionweek.co.uk - as well as live in the windows of Topman's famous Oxford Street store - and, for the very first time this season, a very limited number of pieces from the show will be made available to purchase on-line directly after the show at topman.com.

Topman Design is a directional premium collection which is stocked online at topman.com, the London Oxford Circus and New York Flagships as well as key international stores including La Foret in Tokyo, Incu in Sydney and Shine in Hong Kong. With a growing, almost cult following, the collections have evolved over the seasons under the creative direction of Alister Mackie of AnOther Man, a leading fashion director and superstylist, and Topman Design Director, Gordon Richardson and his dedicated and talented in-house design team.

Gordon Richardson said: "The decision to show apart from MAN last season was welcomed by both the MAN and the Menswear Panel who collectively agreed that it was the right time for us. Topman launches Oliver Spencer capsule shoe collection

Topman has launched a new capsule collection of shoes designed by British designer Oliver Spencer.

Oliver founded his own label in 2002 and now boasts flagship stores in both New York and London as well as being stocked in some of the world's most respected outlets. He wanted to create a collection that reflected his own wardrobe: a bridge between popular streetwear and traditional tailoring. The brand is an expression of modern man; his tastes, his touch, his style.

Oli's main inspirations come from hunting and the military. He adapts bits of Americana and ideas from Japan into his cool, English aesthetic. He admires Sandy Powell, costume designer for the Martin Scorsese movies Gangs of New York and The Aviator, as much as any fashion designer.

Oli has gained a cult following due to his use of quality fabrics, characteristic detailing, modern fitting, old-school construction and exquisite craftsmanship-characteristics which has been perfectly demonstrated in the new range of shoes.

"Oliver has that innate skill of being able to reinterpret an iconic menswear item and with just the slightest tweak of proportion, colour and fabric, redefine it as a modern classic. This Topman collaboration epitomises this with a collection that is both referential yet distinctively new", commented Gordon Richardson, Topman design director.

The collection focuses on one style of boot and one style of shoe, incorporating a unique brick red EVA wedge sole design which Oliver has championed through his own range of shoes to great acclaim. All the boots have been designed in a traditional desert boot style in either navy blue, stone or chocolate brown suede whilst the shoe is an oxford style toe cap in both navy blue or off white nubuck with white stitching.

The collection will be available from May 10 through the London and New York flagship stores and on line.

Topman Design to show solo at London Fashion Week

Topman Design has announced that it will be showcasing its Autumn/Winter 2010 collection as a solo show in February's London Fashion Week.

Topman Design has previously displayed new collections as part of the increasingly successful MAN event which Topman set up alongside Fashion East 10 seasons ago. This will be the first time since MAN's conception in 2005 that Topman Design has not shown as part of the initiative.

Gordon Richardson, Design Director at Topman said: "Our decision to show separately from MAN this season has been welcomed by both the MAN and the Menswear Panel who collectively agree that it is the right time for us. We have established a consistent design ethic and have a good following which gives us the confidence we need to move on and allow MAN to continue to nurture new young talent which is, after all, its purpose."

The decision to progress Topman Design out of MAN comes on the 5th anniversary of the showcase which aims to source and nurture young menswear talent. Both Topman Design and MAN will be part of the second official full day scheduled for London Fashion Week menswear which has received great acclaim in putting menswear firmly back on the British map.

This feel is further augmented by two slim fit suits in both electric green and vivid purple. These both retain the hallmark Antony Price glam lounge lizard look through the use of yarn-dyed taffeta to create a sharp classic almost shiny effect on the surface.

The new range is completed with the introduction of leisurewear available in Antony's original 'capped sleeve' fit. His 'butch lace' design in purple and grey perfectly captures the party feel to the collection whilst his illustration of a woman smoking a cigarette harks back to his first Camden Palace shows.
