Whitbread Plc. is to open its brand new Premier Inn hotel in Kidderminster. The property will contribute over £3.7 million to the local economy whilst creating 26 new jobs for the residents of Kidderminster and surrounding areas.

The brand new 56 bedroom hotel is a beautiful converted mill situated on Weavers Wharf. Within walking distance from some of the town’s greatest shops and just a short drive to Harvington Hall manor house and West Midlands Safari Park, the new hotel is perfectly situated for those after a spot of shopping and culture.

The new 83 room hotel is just one of twenty new sites opening across London in the next 24 months, which is a part of Premier Inn’s plans to grow to 65,000 rooms within the next 5 years.

Premier Inn research finds money (and Brits) never sleep

Premier Inn has revealed the results of new research commissioned by the hotel chain, which has found that Brits are counting pennies rather than counting sheep, as almost three quarters of the nation admit to having sleepless nights thanks to financial worries keeping them awake at night.

The sleep study, commissioned by the UK's best value hotels, Premier Inn, found that four in ten Brits have a disturbed night's sleep as a result of worrying about having enough cash to pay bills and 'get through' the month. Concerns about work, love life woes and fears over health were highlighted alongside financial worries as being the top reasons that Brits lie awake at night.

Of the 2,000 adults surveyed, the majority revealed their sleepless nights are caused by things playing on their mind, rather than physical disturbances like annoying car alarms or persistent dog barking. That said the beeping, flashing or buzzing of mobile phones does cause one in twenty of us to stir from our slumber.

Getting the temperature right seems to be a crucial element of a good night's sleep with over a quarter of Brits being unable to nod off if they are too hot and 16% claiming they wake up if it's too cold.

Claire Haigh, spokeswoman for Premier Inn, commented: "Most of us suffer from sleepless nights at some point in our lives and it can be extremely frustrating when something is playing on your mind as it makes it hard to drop off.

"The research revealed that 40% of us actually have a better night's sleep when we are staying away from home as it allows us to really switch off. This demonstrates how important it is to occasionally get away from the stresses of everyday life, but making sure the time away from home won’t break the bank."

The study revealed that the average time when Brits are most likely wake up from the land of nod is between 2am and 3am and for those who suffer sleepless nights regularly it can happen at least twice a week, with almost a quarter of Brits saying Sunday is their most restless night, due to worry about the coming week.

Other concerns playing on Brits' minds this year include worries over preparations for the Queen's Jubilee, excitement for the Olympics coming to England and even 6% admit to missing out on their 40 winks as a result of the US presidential election.

Whitbread PLC is to open a new Premier Inn hotel in High Wycombe Central on 12th March 2012. The property will contribute over £5 million to the local economy, whilst creating 41 new jobs for residents of the area.

The brand new 120 bedroom hotel is ideally located right in the centre of High Wycombe with easy access to London and minutes away from the main train line station.

Premier Inn opens new Newton Abbot hotel to the public

The Newton Abbott Premier Inn has officially opened its doors to the public investing £6.4 million into the local economy whilst creating 61 jobs.

Local businesses, the Local Mayor of Newton Abbot Councillor Colin Parker and Mayor of Kingsteignton Councillor Keith Howard were invited to the ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the 60 bedroom hotel which is conveniently located on Newton Road, just five minutes away from Newton Abbott train station.

Refreshments and food tasters from the onsite Beefeater Grill restaurant were provided to showcase the delicious food the hotel has to offer.

The opening event was also attended by world renowned racehorse trainer Martin Pipe and Newton Abbot Racecourse Managing Director Patrick Masterson, who was celebrating the fact the new hotel overlooks Newton Abbot Racecourse.

Premier Inn, the UK's largest budget hotel chain, has opened its biggest airport hotel yet with over 400 bedrooms at London's Heathrow Terminal 5.

Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 opened its doors to the public on 6th February 2012, bringing a total of £29million to the local economy through tourism and trade.

The new Heathrow hotel Terminal 5 has also created 82 jobs opportunities for people in the local area, with 79% of positions been filled by people returning to work after long-term unemployment.

Located just one mile away from Heathrow terminal 5, it is in an ideal location for those flying from the terminal. The site includes a Costa Coffee shop, Thyme restaurant and an outdoor eating area. Whitbread's £6.1 million investment brings 53 jobs to Glasgow

Premier Inn has announced that its new hotel and restaurant development in Newton Mearns near Glasgow has brought a total of 53 new jobs to the local area. The new Beefeater Grill restaurant and Premier Inn hotel opening on Greenlaw Crookfur Road, will inject a total investment of £6.2 million into the local economy.

The Castle Beefeater Grill will offer a warm, family-friendly pub restaurant environment with excellent value meal deals. The new Daytime Value Menu will feature main meals including generous portions of fish and chips, sausage and mash and chilli con carne. Whitbread's £5.3 million investment brings 56 jobs to Widnes

Premier Inn has announced that its new hotel and restaurant development in Widnes has brought a total of 56 new jobs to the local area.

The new Brewers Fayre Buffet Place and Premier Inn hotel located at The Hive Leisure Park in Venture Fields, has injected a total investment of £5.3 million into the local economy.

Customers visiting the Brewers Fayre Buffet Place in Widnes can expect a whole new restaurant experience serving lunch and evening meals at a very reasonable price.

The all-you-can-eat buffet will cover a huge range of popular dishes including pub classics, pizza, pasta, salad and a carvery. A weekday a la carte menu will include established favourites such as smothered chicken, mixed grill and beef and ale pie.

Brewers Fayre Buffet Place in Widnes will also offer a delicious limited a la carte menu encompassing classic family favourites such as sausage and mash and chilli con carne, as well as other favourites like Smothered Chicken, with customers dining from the menu or buffet being able to enjoy unlimited salad from the salad bar.

The adjoining Premier Inn features 60 bedrooms, with each room including an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath; a comfortable king-size bed; remote control TV with Freeview; tea and coffee making facilities, and a spacious desk area with internet access.

Premier Inn announces opening of second hotel in Stratford upon Avon

Premier Inn has announced that, following an ever increasing demand for affordable rooms that don't compromise on quality, it will invest in a second Premier Inn hotel in the majestic old town of Stratford upon Avon. Early last year Stratford upon Avon helped Premier Inn reach a new milestone with its 600th hotel opening in the town, with the help of comedian Lenny Henry. Such has been the popularity of Stratford upon Avon that the second hotel is now opening to the public on 13th February 2012, creating 41 jobs within the community and bringing a further investment of £6 million into the local economy.

The brand new 130 bedroom hotel is situated on the banks of the canal near Birmingham Road, minutes away from the Stratford upon Avon train station. Many of the rooms will overlook the scenic canal, with the hotel just a short walk into the historic town centre. The town is best known for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare and is steeped in culture, drawing a great number of tourists to hotels in Stratford upon Avon each year.

Premier Inn has announced it is to open two new hotels and a restaurant development in Inverness, bringing a total of 98 new jobs to the local area. The brand new Premier Inn Inverness West hotel and Beefeater Grill will open on Glenurquhat Road on 23rd January 2012. A second hotel, Premier Inn Inverness Centre will also open on the same day, injecting a total £17.2 million investment into the local community.

Premier Inn Inverness West features 76 bedrooms, and lies on the outskirts of Inverness, just a five minute drive away from the town centre. The beautiful countryside of the Western Highlands, beaches and Loch Ness are all easily accessible by car, making hotels in inverness popular for weekend getaways.

The adjoining Loch Ness House Beefeater Grill will offer a warm, family-friendly pub restaurant environment with excellent value meal deals. The new Daytime Value Menu will feature main meals at affordable prices, including generous portions of fish and chips, sausage and mash and chilli con carne. A personalised steak experience also allows guests to create their own unique flavour sensation, with a range of delicious flavoured butters and seasonings, including garlic and pepper, BBQ, or for an extra kick, the chilli explosion.

Premier Inn and its partner company Whitbread Plc have announced plans to open the first Premier Inn hotel in Warwick on 23rd January 2012. The property will contribute over £8.5 million to the local economy whilst creating 45 new jobs, providing a real boost to the area.

The brand new 124 bedroom hotel is situated on Haywood Road, just a short walk away from Warwick town centre. Premier Inn has announced that it is to open a new hotel in Coventry city centre south on 23rd January 2012. The property will contribute over £4.1 million to the local economy, whilst creating 45 new jobs for residents of the area.

The brand new 100 bedroom hotel, Premier Inn Coventry hotel, is just minutes away from the centre of Coventry allowing guests to stay in the heart of the city without breaking the bank. It is perfectly located to explore both sides of Coventry from the historic Cathedral Quarter to the modern pedestrianised shopping area, which features a wide range of shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities. The hotel is the first phase of a new development at Earlsdon Park as part of the converted Old City College building.

Premier Inn announces £5.9 million investment in Camborne

Premier Inn has announced it is set to open a new hotel and restaurant development in Camborne, bringing a total of 41 new jobs to the area. The new Table Table restaurant, named Trevithick Inn and Premier Inn hotel will be opening on Treswithian Road in January 2012 - injecting a total investment of £5.9 million into the local economy.

In line with Premier Inn's parent company Whitbread's long term commitment to the conservation of the environment, the new site will incorporate a number of key green initiatives. Efficient under floor heating will be incorporated in the Trevithick Inn to avoid the need for radiators; solar PV panels will provide electricity and electric car charging points will be installed in the car park. Similarly, LED lighting will be fitted in the reception and restaurant to reduce electricity consumption.

The Trevithick Inn Table Table - as named by Lee Misselbrook of Falmouth - will aim to serve top quality pub food in a great environment. Classic dishes on offer include hand battered fish and chips, as well as current favourites such as chicken fajitas. There will also be a new selection of desserts available including profiteroles and the indulgent chocolate pecan tart. Customers can take advantage of main meals from Monday to Friday between the hours of 11.30am until 6.30pm, with guests being able to add a starter or dessert for a small fee.

The adjoining Premier Inn will feature 65 bedrooms and will cater for up to two adults and two children (aged 15 and under). Each room includes an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, a comfortable king-size bed, remote control TV with Freeview, tea and coffee making facilities and a spacious desk area with internet access.

The new Beefeater Grill restaurant, named The Beacon, and Premier Inn hotel are located in The Bridge Development on Halcrow Avenue and have injected a total investment of £6.6 million into the local economy.

The new site has incorporated a number of key green initiatives.
