Tycoon Vijay Mallya leaves after attending a hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court in London

“They are all public proceedings”, Mallya told ANI.

Arthur road jail in Mumbai will be the home of fugitive liquor baron Vijay Mallya if he is extradited to India to face the law in connection with the Rs 9,000 crore loan default cases.Vijay Mallya had said the United Kingdom court that Indian prisons are “not up to global standards” and therefore he can’t return. While his earlier appearances before the London Court, Vijay Mallya has been insisting that he has “done nothing wrong” and described the allegations against him as “fabricated”. I have nothing to say, submissions in court will be self evident, ” Vijay Mallya said ahead of appearing before the London’s Westminster Court.

“I am not the decision maker”. However, the judgment in the Mallya case is not expected until early next year.

Over the next ten days, the chief magistrate at Westminster Magistrate’s Court, Emma Arbuthnot, will hear the case presented by Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service on behalf of the Indian Government and the defence on which Mallya will hope to thwart efforts to return him to India to face prosecution.

While on strict bail conditions, which include providing a bail bond worth 650,000 pounds, surrender of his passport and a ban on possessing any travel documents, the former Rajya Sabha member has been based at his Hertfordshire estate Ladywalk in the village of Tewin, around 30 miles from London.

He is sought by India on money-laundering charges related to the demise of several of his high-profile businesses, including an airline. Union Minister of state for Home Kiren Rijiju last month held a discussion over Mally’s extradition with visiting UK Minister of State for Immigration Brandon Lewis. However, the case can go through a series of appeals in higher United Kingdom courts before arriving at a conclusion.

The extradition hearing for Indian tycoon Vijay Mallya is set to begin in a London court.

The Anguralas were discharged on grounds of over 25 years having passed.
