CBS Sets Late Spring Premiere Dates for 'Elementary' and 'Code Black'

returning dramas on CBS will get very late spring premieres, extending
the majority of their seasons through the summer. The network has
finally announced the premiere dates for Elementary and Code Black.

Elementary, which returns for its sixth season, will premiere Monday, April 30 at 10/9, taking over after Scorpion airs its season finale the previous week. Elementary stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson. The last season ended with Sherlock getting a brain scan following the revelation that he was having hallucinatory visions of his dead mother.

Code Black will begin season 3 on Wednesday, May 2 at 10/9c, one week after the season finale of Criminal Minds. The show stars Marcia Gay Harden and Boris Kodjoe.

With such late premieres, both shows will effectively become a part of the summer schedule for CBS. The network also has two other dramas, Salvation and Ransom, that it renewed for second seasons which may show up in the summer, alongside Big Brother 20.
