Jumeirah wins major travel awards in the US and Europe
02 Feb 2010

Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and a member of Dubai Holding, has received four further awards from the travel industry.

In the sixth edition of the 'GT Tested' Reader Survey conducted by Global Traveler magazine, Jumeirah was awarded Best Hotel in the Eastern United States for the Jumeirah Essex House hotel in New York City and Best Hotel Chain in the Middle East, with the latter award being won by Jumeirah for the second year in a row.

Readers of Global Traveler magazine are seen as American premium travellers, clocking up an average of 32 round-trip flights a year, with 96 percent travelling in first or business class regularly. Over 25,000 readers responded to this year's survey.

Meanwhile, business travellers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland also recognised Jumeirah's excellence with the group winning the title of the Best Hotel Group in the Middle East for the second year in a row and the Best Hotel in the Middle East for the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, keeping its title for a third consecutive year.

The two awards were handed to Ms Dagmar Woodward, General Manager of Jumeirah Frankfurt, which will open in September 2010, during a ceremony held in Frankfurt and organised by the German edition of Business Traveller magazine.
