Today marked the start of one of the biggest style events in the city’s calendar.
Yes, Aintree’s Grand National Festival kicked off with its opening day and despite the drop in temperatures ( and believe us it was freezing at the racecourse ) it didn’t stop anyone dressing up.
As we expected, the girls raised the style stakes once again and proved why Liverpool is known for its fashion.
Many even made a coat look stylish.
Stand out styles includes pastel shades and suits, while we also spotted girls coordinating their outfit with their friends.
Below is our round up of the 14 girls who stole the show during the opening day of Aintree’s Grand National Day .
1 – Charlotte Bourne stood out for her originality this year as she was wearing a hat which her mum made and a vintage shawl which were the highlights of her outfits.
2 – Christina Parry teamed a skirt from ASOS with a bodysuit from Zara. She helped prove you don’t always need to spend a fortune on accessories as they’re from New Look.
3 – Estra Haven looked gorgeous in this olive dress, and even managed to make her coat look like part of her outfit. She is another fan of online retailer ASOS which is were her dress is from.
4 – Cathy Pinnington , 53 from Maghull looked great in these pastel colours. Her dress is from Chi Chi London and her jacket is from Debenhams. She proved women of all ages can be stylish.
5 – Gayle Burgin stood out at Aintree in this bright blue outfit. Her whole outfit is from Coast which seems to be among the most popular retailers worn so far this year.
6 – Laura Loughrey proved black and white doesn’t need to be boring. We loved her outfit which was made by Liverpool designer Kirsty Doyle.
7 – Elizabeth Howorth looked glamorous in her dress from Coast and jacket from ASOS. And at 62-years-old her looked just as stylish as her daughter Laura.
8 – Ellie Hoare was spotted in the middle of taking a selfie with her friends, which was indicator of how much she enjoyed the first day of Aintree. Ellie’s dress is from ASOS and her bag is from Monsoon while her shoes are from online retailer Missguided.
9 – Sophie Mills wore one of our favourite looks. Her green suit is from H&M and her top is from ASOS. The shoes she wore were from River Island.

Her outfit was from Irish designer Peter O’Brien and her hat was from Doun Guibert Milne.
