Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne was delighted with their 3-1 win at Tottenham.
Following what has been a demanding fortnight both physically and mentally, De Bruyne said the Wembley win spoke volumes as to City’s collective character.
“Everybody feels a bit of tiredness – it has been a tough two weeks. We had five big games and you feel it,” said De Bruyne.
“But the mental toughness of this team is unbelievable.
“I think against the games against United and Liverpool at home were good. I think we deserved to win those games but it didn’t happen.
“Sometimes that’s football and the teams we played were very strong.
“Today we scored the goals and defended better and I think we deserved to win.”
