Jordan Henderson and James Milner have fired shots towards Harry Kane after Mohamed Salah’s goal against Bournemouth today.
Salah scored Liverpool’s second in a routine 3-0 over the Cherries at Anfield this evening, moving him to 30 Premier League goals for the season – five ahead of Tottenham striker Kane.
Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the first-half and Roberto Firmino confirmed the work in the final minutes with a goal in front of the Kop End.
Kane had claimed Tottenham’s second goal against Stoke City last weekend, campaigning for the Premier League’s decision to give the strike to Christian Eriksen to be overturned. Kane said the shot ‘brushed his shoulder’ before hitting the back of the net.
Kane’s actions drew the ire of fans across the country after he successfully took the goal from his team-mate after an appeal.
Fans on social media all made the same joke about Kane following the goals – and it seems as if the Liverpool midfield duo wanted to get in on the act.
In the post-match interview, Henderson was asked about Salah’s goalscoring form and the Liverpool captain jokingly responded by saying that the Egyptian had told him he was claiming all of today’s goals.
And Milner, who came off the bench for Mane, later tweeted: “Another hat-trick for Mo today…. just waiting for the other two to be confirmed by the claims panel.”
This joke is going to continue until one of the two men finally claims that Golden Boot.
