The Toyota RAV4 is one of the bestselling crossovers in the world and it is probably the last vehicle in Toyota’s mind to get axed for the line-up.
True enough, the RAV4 will continue to get produced in the coming years but this is without the diesel variants. Toyota made it clear earlier today that the RAV4 Diesel will no longer be available for purchase in Europe, starting in 2019 next year.
This means that 2018 will be the last time where consumers can pick a RAV4 diesel up in the old continent. It is also worth noting that the RAV4 Diesel isn’t the only model that is facing the axe. The Land Cruiser, Hilux and ProAce will all get phased out by the end of this year.
In conclusion, anything diesel-related from Toyota will get permanently discontinued and they won’t be around at the start of 2019. Will the RAV4 Diesel’s axing create a dent on the RAV4’s overall sales?
