“Uma Musume – Pretty Derby” Heads to the Races on April 01, 2018


Japanese broadcast schedule revealed for TV anime based on mixed media project about girls who are also race horses


We’re not horsing around when we say that the official Japanese broadcast schedule has been revealed for Uma Musume – Pretty Derby, an upcoming TV anime based on the mixed media project by Cygames, TOHO animation, and Lantis about high school girls who are also champion race horses.



Uma Musume – Pretty Derby will broadcast according to the following schedule:


  • Tokyo MX: every Sunday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on April 01, 2018.
  • BS11: every Sunday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on April 01, 2018.
  • Kansai Telecasting Corporation: every Sunday during the 25:55 time slot beginning on April 01, 2018.
  • Saga Television Station: after an initial broadcast at 25:45, every Monday during the 25:25 time slot beginning on April 02, 2018.
  • AbemaTV: every Tuesday during the 23:00 time slot beginning on April 03, 2018.



Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 25:25 time slot on Monday evening is actually at 01:55 AM JST on Tuesday morning. 



Uma Musume – Pretty Derby is directed by Kei Oikawa and features animation by P.A. Works. The story follows Special Week, a horse girl from the countryside who moves to the big city in order to train at a school dedicated to racing. Together with her teammates, Special Week aims to conquer the “Twinkle Series” and to earn the title of “Japan’s Number 1 Horse Girl”.
