Shark Card is a microtransaction tool for Rockstar’s GTA 5 and it is described as the element that has ruined the game’s online experience for the majority of the players.
Despite the controversy surrounding microtransactions this year, Rockstar is still unmoved on the state of Shark Cards as they see it fitting for GTA 5 Online. If that is not bad enough, Rockstar has also mentioned that a Shark Card-like element is being heavily considered for their next major IP, Red Dead Redemption 2.
Whether it will be called Cowboy Cards or Horse Cards is a question that remains to be answered but one thing is for sure and it is that Red Dead Redemption 2 looks likely to have microtransactions. If this is to mean anything, the game will have an online mode where the Cards will be in effect.
Despite our hate for microtransactions, we are glad that Red Dead Redemption 2’s primary offering will be in the single player mode hence the Cards won’t affect us much unless we truly want to dwell in the online mode.
