About a couple of weeks ago, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles pleaded guilty to cheating the emission on their diesel-powered vehicles and it prompted a strange response from the carmaker.
FCA said that in lieu of the penalty they are facing, the carmaker has decided to cease production and sales of everything diesel-related by 2024. The news brought out positive responses towards FCA and it also bred some big questions.
Among them is with FCA’s diesel plans on the new generation Wrangler. The latest generation Wrangler has already made its debut but it is not the complete deal yet. Jeep has made it clear that the goal with the new Wrangler is to have the vehicle running on diesels and they will be launching it later this year.
Well, we have yet to see an unveiling happening at the moment and there are speculations claiming that the Wrangler Diesel idea has been trashed following the emission probe.
The uncertain state of things would mean that the only way to find out if there is going to be a Wrangler Diesel is through waiting only. We should get a better idea on this once Jeep spill the beans during their annual Safari event happening in the coming months.
