Two week injury prognosis keeps Sturridge’s World Cup hopes alive

Daniel Sturridge still has a chance of making England’s World Cup squad.

The player suffered an injury on his on-loan debut for West Ham after just a few minutes.

But Sturridge’s injury is only going to keep him out for two weeks. Now it will be up to him to make sure he can stay fit for the rest of the season.

His manager Alan Pardew said the following on the situation: “We need him up and running as it’s goals we’ve struggled with.

“He felt his hamstring after a 60 metre sprint in the first moments of the game.

“We’ll have to nurse him. He won’t play next week but hopefully the week after.”
